Alaska Division Summer Nationals Qualifier
(Divisions II & III, and Teams)
Held April 4th & 5th, 2009
at Fencing Center of Alaska
The Division Qualifiers was held at Fencing Center of Alaska on April 4-5. This was a qualifying event for Division 2, Division 3, Junior Team and Senior Team events at Summer Nationals.
Details about the tournament:
Division 2 events are for fencers C and under. The top 25% (minimum of 4 fencers) will qualify.
Division 3 events are for fencers D and under. The top 25% (minimum of 4 fencers) will qualify.
Because we hold these events together, the top 25% of the fencers in the overall event qualified for Division 2. The top 25% of the remainder qualified for Division 3 only. Those fencers who qualified for Division 2 qualified automatically for Division 3 as well.
Team events require a minimum of 3 fencers per team fielded. Fencers must all be from the same club for that club to fence. A fielded team that qualifies for Nationals does not have to consist of the team members that were present at the qualifier. The qualifier is solely for qualifying teams to participate in the Nationals.
