The Alaska Division of USFA has been active for over 30 years. We are currently made up of six different clubs from five different cities in Alaska and have over 50 active members. The Alaska Division provides organization and unity to all Alaskan clubs. As part of the US Fencing Association, the Alaska Division hosts tournaments and qualifies fencers for national-level competitions. |

Membership:
It's time to renew individual USFA memberships for the 2010-2011 season. Remember that USFA membership is a prerequisite for Section, Division and National competitions.
USFA affiliated club memberships are also due. Club membership allows the club to host USFA tournaments and is the basis for obtaining USFA insurance for those events.

Regional Youth Circuit (RYC) Competition
Alaska held its first RYC Tournament on 31 Oct - 1 Nov 2009 at the Fencing Center of Alaska. Competitive categories included Y10 and Y12 in foil, epee and saber.

Division News
We have two current officer positions that are vacant and need to be filled. If any current member of USFA, Alaska Division, would like to be considered for these two positions please contact one of the current officers.
The positions are Vice Chair of Operations (responsible for Division event scheduling and tournament organization and management) and Vice Chair of Administration (responsible for Division club coordination, Division liaison with the Section and USFA, and national leadership and Division administration matters).
